Stems short, to 7 cm.
Gonothecae borne prolifically on main stems and occasionally at base of branches on the apophysis of the hydrocladium. Gonothecae irregularly ovate, flattened distally or slightly flattened on one side, aperture closed by a thin membrane. Female gonophores, spherical, half filling gonothecal cavity, packed with mature ova surrounded by a thin granular blastostyle.
