This species was described by M. Hammer (1953) as Lepidocyrtus cyaneus var. albicaudatus. Christiansen & Bellinger (1980 – 1981: 936) did not include it in their key because it was “ unplaceable without types ”. Currently listed as Lepidocyrtus albicaudatus Hammer, 1953 by Bellinger et al. (1996 – 2015).
