Remarks. Hoogmoed (1990: 269) designated RMNH 24109 as lectotype. A paralectotype is probably in the Museum für Naturkunde der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. The type locality was given as “ Bahia ” and “ Rio de Janeiro ” by Wied-Neuwied (1825: 592). Bokermann (1966 a: 25) restricted the type locality to “ Rio de Janeiro, Guanabara ”.
