Type host. Haematopus palliatus Temminck (Aves: Haematopodidae). Site of infection. Gizzard. Type locality. Argentina, Buenos Aires Province, Laguna de Mar Chiquita (37 º 46 ʹS, 57 º 27 ʹW). Holotype: 3 MLP 4066 / 1. Paratypes: MLP 4066 / 2 (allotype Ƥ); MLP 4066 / 3 (13, 1 Ƥ). Remarks. In the original description (Cremonte et al. 1999) the collection numbers are refered as 40,066 / 1; 40,066 / 2 and 40,066 / 3 due to a mistake. Reference. Cremonte et al. (1999).
