REMARKS: Bianchi (1981 a), following the opinion of Zibrowius (1973), who considered that it was not possible to identify correctly the species of the genera Filograna Berkeley, 1835 and Salmacina Claparède, 1870, reported specimens of both genera from the Italian waters as Filograna sp. The Filograna / Salmacina complex in the Adriatic Sea comprises three species: Filograna implexa, Salmacina dysteri (Huxley, 1855) and S. incrustans Claparède, 1870. Due to the confusing literature the distributions of the different species is uncertain (Castelli et al. 2008).
