Distribution: PA Habitat: ES, SL Comments: Occurrences of this species in inland saline water bodies of Europe are all probably the result of deliberate introduction as a food source. The Caspian Sea was stocked with the species during 1939 – 41, but it was misidentified and treated as Alitta succinea for two decades (Hartman 1960). It also occurs in the Aral Sea (Andreev et al. 1992) and Black Sea (Manoleli 1980).
