Remarks. The species is fairly similar to Metaphire californica (Kinberg, 1867), but differs in lack of copulatory pouches, having a pair of large genital markings on viii, and one or two pairs of genital markings in the male region. Blakemore (2007 a) assigned this species to the genus Metaphire with comments " species inquirenda ". The species assigned here to the genus Amynthas because of lack of copulatory pouches.
