Distribution and habitat. Bachia didactyla is endemic to enclaves of open vegetation in southern Amazonia, occurring only in Brazil (Fig. 3). It is known from the states of Rondônia and Mato Grosso. As usual for Bachia and other fossorial or semi-fossorial animals, information about its ecology and habitat is scarce. Gainsbury & Colli (2003) found two specimens in a sandy cerrado enclave.
