ABOUT

Descriptions(1)

The vertebra which I select as typical of this species is more distinct in character from those of the three species above described, than they are from each other. Although the Centrum presents a strong inferior keel, its border is not horizontal or convex, but concave, and the articular cups are proportionally little elongated downwards. The diapophyses have at their bases a relatively small vertical diameter, and the longitudinal perforation enters below and before the base and not behind it. The longitudinal ridge from the inferior part of the latter is very prominent and horizontal, bridging over the vertical perforation, which enters the superior lateral fossa. lt is separated below from the posterior perforation by a. short oblique bridge. The neural arch is lost from this specimen. There are other vertebrae which display a slightly developed inferior keel, and articular cups little produced downwards, but the fossae are less developed than in the one described. Measurements. M. antero-posterior Diameter of centrum {vertical transverse. 006. 004.003 The typical individual was about as large as the Menopoma.
