Description. The small, compact specimen provides little useful information. The only statoblast is a fragment of a ventral valve with much adhering debris that could possibly be attributed to P. emarginata.

Remarks. The specimen was originally labeled “ Plumatella princeps (= Plumatella polymorpha) ”, but subsequently identified by Wiebach as P. emarginata. I have isolated the broken statoblast valve in a small vial with the specimen, but doubt that it could ever be very useful.

Distribution. Plumatella emarginata is widely distributed throughout the holarctic and in the Australasian region. It has not been known to occur in any of the warmer areas of the world.
