Jar label: Lithobius orotavae Latzel, 1 Holotype, 1 Paratype (printed label: Zool. Museum Hamburg). Vial 1 (ZMH-A 0000697): Label 1. Lithobius orotavae Latzel, 1895, Lectotypus, M. Latzel noted that only two (probably juvenile) specimens were available. The ZMH specimens are these syntypes. Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Lithobius melanops (Newport, 1845) according to Eason (1984: 389).
