Two specimens ♂ are listed in the original publication which are syntypes. Collection remarks. The specimens were collected by Curt Kosswig (1903 – 1982), a former Professor of Zoology at the Universität Hamburg. Taxonomic remarks. Monotarsobius is presently considered a subgenus of Lithobius. Current systematic position. Lithobius (Monotarsobius) cuklauvus (Chamberlin, 1958).
