Type material. Holotype ♀. PERU: Ayacucho Region, Sivia [ca. 12 ° 30 ’ S, 73 ° 51 ’ W]. Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 61, No. 1, Holotype ♀. Collection remarks. The specimen was collected during the Hamburger Südperu-Expedition in 1936. It was collected by light trapping. Additional remarks. The specimen was destroyed by fire in World War II (Weidner 1960). Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Orphnaeus brasilianus (Humbert & Saussure, 1870) according to Kraus (1957: 368).
