Attems (1903 a) did not specify the number of specimens in his description. Weidner (1960: 67) listed 2 syntypes from Valdivia and 1 paratype from the Teja Island (“ Insel Teja ”), Valdivia, and we treat all specimens as syntypes. Additional material. There are additional syntypes from Corral at the ZMB (no. 2878). Collection remarks. The specimens were collected by Wilhelm Michaelsen during his expedition to the southern tip of South America 1892 – 93. Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Cryptops monilis (Gervais, 1849) according to Kraepelin (1903: 51).
