Type locality and specimens. Sig. L. Fea obtained three adult specimens at Palon (Pegu) [Bago].

Type material. Syntype (ZMH-A 0000683). MYANMAR: Bago Region, Bago (“ Palon [Pegu] ”) [ca. 17 ° 19 ’ N, 96 ° 27 ’ E]. Preservation. 1 jar: Label. Scutigera birmanica Poc. ex. typ., Palon (backside with the imprint: Viaggio in Birmania di L. FEA, 1885 – 89.). Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 61, No. 2. Paratype 1. Collection remarks. The specimens were collected during Leonardo Fea’s expedition to Birma [today Myanmar] 1885 – 89 (“ Viaggio in Birmania di L. FEA, 1885 – 89 ”). Two additional syntypes (adult & subadult ♂, Birma- nia, Bhamo) are present at the MNHN and more specimens of the original series are at the ZMUC and perhaps the BMNH (Stoev & Geoffroy 2004: 7 – 8). Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Thereuopoda longicornis (Fabricius, 1793) according to Würmli (1979: 46).
