Material examined: Lectotype ♀ in alcohol 16 x 1954, JAPAN, Tokyo, Nippara Do cave, R. Yosii & S. Uéno leg. 1 paralectotype ♀ in a slide, 16 x 1954, JAPAN, Tokyo, Nippara Do cave, R. Yosii & S. Uéno leg. Several paralectotypes in alcohol, same data as holotype. 1 ♀, Kanagawa, Manazuru, 10 iii 1970, R. Yosii leg., MHN. Principalisgroup (Fig. 5, AK). Body setae as in figure D. Ant. IV with eight subsegments (Fig. A), apex with a capitate sense rod (Fig. B). Ant. III with basal swelling; sense organ (Fig. C) with 2 parallel sense rods in a single shallow pit; seta Aai clubshaped and blunt; Api and Ape slender and bristlelike; Ae, Ap and Ai normal elongate setae. 1 + 1 eyes, no pigment. A 3, L 1 2, IL 1 3 and M 4 cephalic setae slightly spinelike, M 5 absent (Fig. J). Metatrochanteral organ (seta D 2) elongate (Fig. G). Second and third ungues with a clear inner tooth, tunica on first unguis only (figs. K, ac). First and second unguiculi with a corner tooth, no apical filament. Corpus tenaculum with one setae (Fig. H). Dens with 7 dorsal E setae, E 1 5 spinelike; setae L 1 4 spinelike; D 1 2 and Id 1 4 present (Fig. E); 4 ventral setae rows (3,2,1,1) (Fig. E). Mucro narrow, gutterlike, both edges serrate (Fig. F). Anal valve without cuticular spines; setae C 1 9 swollen basally, chaetotaxy (Fig. I). Female subanal appendage rodlike, slightly flattened and distal two thirds deeply serrate (Fig. I). Biogeographic zone 3 a. Remarks: This species can be easily recognized by the number of the subsegments of the Ant. IV, the basal swelling on Ant. III, and the shape of the female subanal appendage. See also remarks for A. yosii sp. n.
