Range P. o. ocellatus Yapen, Mios Num. Status Beehler & Pratt (2016) correctly noted that S. F. Bailey’s report from Biak requires corroboration. This species’ vocalisations are loud and distinctive, and unlikely to have been overlooked by the authors or other visitors.
